Welcome!
I am in no way a professional blogger, and I don't think I will ever have the time to be. This is just me, my iPhone, and a blog about the way we learn.
We are full time missionaries in the heart of Honduras. We are located in a very remote, poverty-stricken location in the La Moskitia region, reaching out and helping the Miskito people who live and flourish here.
We began as a family of 4 from Texas.
My husband and I have been married 14 yrs as of just a couple weeks ago on May 27. We have two fabulous girls as a result of our marriage, Alana (13), my quiet girly-girl, and Audrey (12), my adventurous tree-climber.
As of April 2013, we have began a full time ministry here in Honduras, Love Shines Missions. Also, just in this short time we have taken in two more beautiful girls who are now a permanent part of our family. Charon (12), my loud dimple-faced funny girl, & Eldali (6), my little princess bossy-pants, have an adventure all their own, being part of a new family for all of two whole weeks so far!
We are unschoolers. Well, half of us. Charon still attends government school because homeschooling isn't recognized for colleges, and because that's just how it is right now! It's still early in the game and I wouldn't want to pull her out of the system that she's used to and has known all her life. But who knows, maybe, if you stick around, you'll be able to experience with us the joys of other schooling options for her as well! Eldali is also currently attending a Christian private preschool that is taught by a fellow missionary here. She loves it and she's doing great with Ms Linda this year. My other two, Alana and Audrey, are completely unschooled. Although that's not to say I don't incorporate other learning opportunities for Charon and Eldali also! You know how it is...*wink*.
Here, on this blog, I hope you will be able to grow with us, learn with us, and become our friends. Follow along, be sure to subscribe! We have some interesting things to learn! I promise not to be TOO boring.

Hello my brave friend! My prayers are with you & your family. Excited to see how God is moving you on your journey!
