Across the lagoon.
That's where we were headed.
With about 35 other people! (That's a big boat, folks)
We spent the day with a missions team from the US and we were headed to visit our missionary friends who live across the lagoon. We had a great day of hot dogs and cake, dancing in the rain, and finding some nature goodies!
Ad this is what it looks like when it RAINS....
The kids were able to run the property, and we explored a few treasures. Like:
Cute little daisies.
And Pineapples!
By the creek, we found some of our new favorites. The kids call them "no touch plants". And they look like this.......They SNAP SHUT! See the little guy in the middle? Compare the big green one in the middle to its friend just to the left of it. The little leaves of this little plant just snap shut as soon as you touch it. Kinda freaked the kids out at first.....but then, you run around touching all the "no touch" plants that you can find! Such fun! (For the kids, I mean. *ahem*)
This is Alex, a local missionary friend, sharing some watermelon with some of the local kids.
What did we learn today: Why did God call them "no touch" plants when they're so fun to touch?!
:)
